Strong Brands for Cheese and Milk Specialities

Milsy a.s. is based in Bánovce in central Slovakia and has been part of the Artax Group since 2001. The company has classic dairy operations. The product range includes fresh milk products and Slovakian and international cheese specialities. On the marketing side, “Milsy” has been developed into a new umbrella brand, which has been successfully launched in the Slovakian and Czech markets.

Indeed, Milsy has evolved into the biggest Slovakian milk processor and milk product producer and at the Bánovce location, the company operates the country’s second-largest cheese making plant.  This specialises in Mozzarella, typical Slovakia cheese specialities such as Korbáčik, Parenica and Oštiepok, and fresh products that include milk, yoghurt, sour milk and butter.

The Milsy range has also been enlarged to include a series of low-cholesterol products. In addition to special, fresh health promoting products, combinations with Omega 3 fatty acids are produced for increased personal wellbeing. 

In recent years, major investments have been made at the Bánovce location, which as a result has been turned into a modern and efficient dairy industry processing operation. Parallel to the improvements in production technology, hygiene standards have been raised to EU level. As a consequence of all these measures and the planned expansion of sales to the eastern EU states, the future points to further sales growth.    

It is Milsy’s intention to constantly offer products of the highest quality and in 2005, the company received ISO 9001:2000 accreditation. Since 2006, the products and processes have also been subject to IFS (International Food Standard) and BRC (British Retail Consortium)  certification. These accreditations underline Milsy’s pioneering role in the Slovakian market with regard to quality management.
