Artax AG, which emanated from the tradition Austrian dairy industry in 1998, is a holding company based in Linz/Upper Austria. The companies of the Artax Group are involved with the development, production and global sale and distribution of high quality and functional special products on the basis of milk and milk ingredients. In addition, Artax AG operates a dairy in Slovakia and a cheese processing plant in the USA. 

During recent years, all activities not belonging to core business have been systematically sold off and the sales network considerably expanded in the course of a dynamic restructuring and growth process. The merger of the Lactoprot International AG sub-holding with Artax AG in 2007 has brought both a further simplification of company structure and cost savings. 

The industrial companies in the Artax Group focus on precisely classified business areas and customers in line with a new strategic orientation. Rovita GmbH concentrates on the “Savoury” area, Prolactal GmbH looks after the “Non-Savoury” sector and Lactoprot Deutschland GmbH, the “Single Ingredients” segment.  Today, the companies are respected partners for producers from all the main foods industries such as baking products, meat products, baby food, ice cream and confectionary, and milk products. 

The aim of the Artax Group is to focus on innovation and complex technologies in connection with the development and production of the product range.  The ideal prerequisites for such quality are provided by the workforce of some 800, product development professionalism and the technical equipment used in the plants. In addition, the companies are open for co-operation in both the sales area and with regard to the exchange of technical know-how.
